Today, 21 September is Sheena’s 45th birthday
It’s just gone 03.10 hr as I start to write this.
When I awoke, feeling wide awake, my digital clock was showing 02.46 hr.
Outraged indignation was swamping my brain with adrenalin, no chance of returning to sleep now … not until I send this message to the good people of Bougainville and especially of Buka town.
With a hot cup of ginger and lemon tea at my side to calm the senses…why don’t we step back for a moment and look at the big picture….
And let’s first just pause to ponder on two very relevant sayings:
“IT JUST TAKES GOOD MEN (and WOMEN!) TO DO NOTHING FOR EVIL MEN TO PROSPER”
and
“POWER ALMOST ALWAYS CORRUPTS, ABSOLUTE POWER CORRUPTS ABSOLUTELY “
We need to ask ourselves is this what is happening in the Bougainville Police Force? I’m just asking a question not making an accusation.
This question relates to the horrific evidence we received from my daughter, Sheena, just two days ago. The summary page of her written statement and the typed version of her handwritten statement are here in my postings of 19 and 20 September.
What Sheena alleges she is currently being made to suffer amounts to torture, a gross violation of human rights. Can you understand why, as her dad, when I wake up these past few nights, the adrenalin flows?
It would be crass of us to wish Sheena “Happy Birthday” but please join me in looking back on some of our families’ happy times with Sheena.

So! I’m calling out to all you good people in Buka, please 
see if you can fit in a quick visit to Sheena in the holding cell she is sharing in Buka Police station or where ever else she has been moved to …
… at age 15 my daughter turned down the offer of British and Australian citizenship choosing instead to return to Bougainville from international school in Hong Kong in 1994 to help her mum with her 3 younger half brothers.
Sheena felt she could be more use to her Province …
So, maybe some of you could just nip into Buka Police Station and insist on seeing Sheena on her birthday? You could tell her that her dad says he well remembers our happy days together and …
… that he will never rest until she can be reunited, happily, with her two boys, still of school age.
What can they be thinking?
