Finally – Bail was granted!

UPDATE ON “#JUSTICE FOR SHEENA”

FINALLY GREAT NEWS for my 985 Facebook Friends (who are now mostly from AROB and are friends and/or past or present colleagues of Sheena’s!)

You are true friends because you have come to her, to stand with her in her time of need. That says a lot for all of you. Thank you all so much! Both Sheena and I shall be forever grateful.

Just 6 weeks ago before I learned of Sheena’s incarceration, I had only about 50 Facebook friends and never really posted much on it!

The encouragement, support and information I have received from all you good people in AROB and indeed all over PNG as well as back in Scotland, are so greatly appreciated!

Tenkyu tru ol gutpela wantoks na tambu bilo mi. Yupela bin strongim tru ol bun bilo mi, olsem mi no inap givup lo dispela pait lo JUSTICE FOR SHEENA.

BAIL WAS GRANTED TO SHEENA TODAY, 26 OCTOBER 2023… FINALLY!!!

That’s over 8 months from her first being incarcerated by AROB Police in a surprise armed raid on the night of 20 February, 2023.

Ever since then, in her incarceration, she has not been allowed to:

contact me (her father) or her two boys, go outside to get sunlight, or get a change of clothes for months,

Sheena for 8 months has:

endured unhygienic washing and toilet conditions, had no privacy to wash, been fed only a monotonous, unhealthy diet of tinpis wantaim rice just twice a day, not been allowed access to a phone or to contact anyone, developed painfully aching joints, I am told by someone, especially pain in one of her ankles which is swollen for no apparent reason, for which painkillers give little relief, had to have the prison cell light on 24/7

I am not sure about this one, but I doubt whether she has a fan or mosquito net in a mosquito infested prison.

This is of course disgraceful for any civilised country in the 21st Century.

Please note the accompanying handwritten summary, by Sheena, alleging lack of due police process and all the above.

Oh, and what is the charge? Was it really so serious that she was a threat to society or even to one particular corrupt police officer?

No, just one relatively minor charge (in comparison to what some allegedly corrupt officers are allegedly doing: see 7th Special Operation Challenger Grievance Petition/Appeal written by 11 (eleven) AROB community leaders, dated 3 August 2023, and circulated to 15 agencies.)

There is only one charge: Damage to police property!

Really! That all?!??

This allegedly occurred during the public demonstration in Arawa on 4 January 2023, when about 100 people were protesting about police bias, corruption, brutality, illegal use and sale of unlicensed guns, sexual impropriety, and the murder of a young man, severely beaten by police in his prison cell. He died in hospital 4 days later.

Our sincere condolences to this young man’s family; I am very sorry for having to mention this.

Whilst sympathetic to the demonstration, Sheena vows she never did any damage to anything and that she has lots of witnesses to prove it.

So, what was her “real crime”?

Well, in the eyes of one of the most senior police officers in AROB, it may be that her only “crime” was writing a letter about that senior officer sexually harassing her for months, despite her repeated requests not to. This is the same officer who is alleged to have raped her cousin and molested a schoolgirl visiting her father in Arawa prison. I have his name and detailed statements.

If Sheena is harmed in any way then I shall release to the world, on Facebook, the names of all those police officers accused of illegal activities. I am 72 years of age, outside PNG jurisdiction, retired but have a strong support base and have nothing to lose.

On a happier note, the accompanying photo was taken about 35 years ago. Look at that radiant smile from our beloved “little girl” back in Scotland (we are now based near Cairns, QLD).

So! Let’s all STAND WITH SHEENA!

Let’s see if we can get that radiant smile back on her face and FINALLY GET JUSTICE FOR SHEENA!

UPDATE 11 June 2025: JUSTICE AT LAST, SHEENA IS INNOCENT!

Please check the attached copies of the ‘Notice of Discharge’ and the ‘Court Order’ that state that charges against Sheena will not be laid because of failure by the police to provide any evidence that she had committed any crime. The reason for this website being prepared and published, today, 10 May 2024, is that today was supposed to be the day of my daughters pre-trial with our lawyer present. Instead, it was held two days before our lawyer’s scheduled arrival in Buka without prior warning to him. This is the second of such instances…

Update 8th May

Sheena travelled from Arawa to Buka today, 8 May, for her pre-trial hearing. This hearing we understood was to be held with our lawyer present and was, we had understood to be scheduled for Friday, 10 May. Our lawyer was booked to fly to Buka tomorrow. As I understand it at the time of writing…
